Bolgatanga Baskets from Ghana

Coming from the Bolgatanga region of Ghana, these baskets are traditionally used for carrying goods to and from the market. Weavers in the region use the abundant Elephant grass to weave these incredibly hardy, useful baskets. The leather wrapped handle adds to the durability. Please note that if colour looks black on your screen, it is actually a very, very dark blue.
Easily reshape your basket by quickly submerging in water (keep leather dry), reshape by hand and hang to dry.

Size: approx. 35 - 42 cm wide and 20 - 28 cm high (excl. handles).

Note: although these baskets are very strong we advise not to overload them with really heavy items such as logs as otherwise the handle can snap. Load capacity limit is approx. 12 kgs.
