African Raku Ceramic Lion

A lion statue made by hand by a South African artisan group. The technique used is raku which is a traditional firing method for clay from Japan. It has been successfully adapted by this artisan group to make the most wonderfully glazed life-like animal clay figurines. The figurines are exquisite works of art and a joy to look at.

Size of the figurine is approx.: 15 cm (6") in length from tip of tail to head and 7.8 cm (3") in height (including head).

Colour scheme: green, turquoise, dark grey and light red.
